PRN Alumni Event at Track 15

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Track 15 PRN Alumni Event on April 14. It was great to come together, reconnect, and celebrate the strength of our alumni network.

Congratulations again to our cohort challenge winners: the 2019 cohort! and thank you to all cohorts for showing up and representing!

If you were not able to attend, you were missed. We hope to see you at an upcoming event soon.

We’re already planning more opportunities to connect, learn, and grow together as a PRN community—including future events designed for both current participants and alumni. Stay tuned for upcoming dates and invitations.

In the meantime, be on the lookout for the PRN Alumni Newsletter and check out our Alumni Webpage.

Segue Leaders Facilitate CoP as Professional Development for Staff

On March 13, 2026, the Segue Institute for Learning District – K-8 Davis REACH Academy & Legacy High School –  hosted our annual Each One, Teach One Professional Learning Conference. Current PRN Aspiring Principals – Mrs. Michelle Laboissonniere, Mrs. Chloe Allen, and Mrs. Jackie Casey – engaged the full staff of 100+ educators in a Community of Practice session, facilitating collaborative problem-solving grounded in real-time dilemmas.

The purpose of the session was to move beyond isolated problem-solving and instead build a shared approach to navigating challenges across teams. Using structured protocols such as the “Consultancy Protocol” and “What? So What? Now What?”, pre-selected staff were able to work in small groups to examine authentic dilemmas related to instruction, student culture, and systems.

This experience reinforced the belief that multiple perspectives lead to stronger, more equitable solutions.

Staff reflections highlighted the impact of the work:

  • “Meaningful discussion/presentation that made me reflect on my practice, and hearing suggestions from more experienced teachers was really helpful.”
  • “I had connections with the dilemma the presenter was sharing! It also made it useful for me and gave me ideas to also use in my classroom.”
  • “Was reaffirming to hear the dilemma and relate to the root cause with my own work.
  • “Loved hearing multiple perspectives on the same dilemma!

Beyond the session itself, this work is helping shift the approach from reactive problem-solving to more proactive, reflective collaboration. The team of aspiring principals are supported by Segue leaders including PRN alumni Melissa Lourenco ‘14 and Kevin Montoya ‘21.

Leaders are continuing to model these protocols in an effort to make the Community of Practice an ongoing, schoolwide structure rather than a one-time experience.

Segue Institute for Learning exemplifies the impact of strategically developing a strong pipeline of effective school leaders.

You know the value of a hands-on program to prepare aspiring leaders to improve schools by becoming strategists, data analysts, and champions for students.

Nominate a PRN Alum for the PRN Equity and Impact Alumni Award

Every year, CLEE celebrates the work of a PRN alum by recognizing one or more individuals at PRN graduation with the PRN Equity and Impact Alumni Award. This award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership in:

  • significantly improving academic outcomes for historically underserved students
  • dismantling inequitable systems
  • and/or actively supporting the PRN program and its aspiring principals

This year, PRN graduation is scheduled for Thursday, June 11, 2026 at Quidnessett Country Club. CLEE is currently seeking nominations for this year’s award. Nominations are due Friday, May 29th.

Resume Drop at PRN Graduation

To support PRN graduates in being placed into leadership positions, there will be an area at the ceremony for graduates to connect with alumni and current mentor principals to further get to know each other. There will also be a “resume box” for graduates to drop off hard copies of their resume to potentially be contacted by alumni and/or mentor principals who have potential vacancies in leadership roles. Graduates can also drop their names,  email addresses, and placement interests to be contacted.  Interested in participating?  Attend this year’s PRN Graduation and meet the newest leaders for equity!
