Powerful Openers: Connection Through Content
Tuesday, August 19, 2025 12-1:30pm (Eastern)
We will unpack how a well-crafted opener can build trust and prepare minds for learning – connection through content. We will examine two purposeful types of openers: those that foster group connection and create a receptive space for learning, and those that activate prior knowledge just before engaging in new learning together. You will leave with practical tools and strategies for designing and facilitating openers that help participants feel both seen and ready for deeper learning.

Skillful Pre-Conferences: Preparing for Meaningful Learning Conversations
Thursday, September 25, 2025 12-1:30pm (Eastern)
This session explores the essential role of pre-conferences in setting up powerful, student-centered learning experiences. We will practice guiding presenters through reflective questions that clarify purpose, surface dilemmas, and support emotional safety as they prepare to share their work with others. We will learn how to elicit a strong focus question, match it to the right protocol, and plan facilitation moves that support the best outcomes. You will leave with a pre-conference toolkit that includes sample questions, decision-making guides, and planning templates to launch collaborative conversations with clarity, agency, and intention.
