CLEE calls Rhode Island home. Some of our roots trace back to the Annenberg Institute at Brown University, and we share colleagues, partners, and deep relationships across this community. The violence that occurred this weekend touches students, families, educators and school leaders across our state and far beyond it.
Our hearts and thoughts are with Brown students, families, staff, and community. We stand in support of the students, families, faculty, staff and educators who show up every day to create spaces for learning, care and belonging, even in moments of profound grief. No school community should carry fear alongside learning. Schools must be safe places in every respect.
This moment reminds us why working toward connection, dialogue, and shared responsibility matter. People heal and lead together through listening, reflection, and collective care. Dialogue builds understanding. Connection builds resilience.
One of the resources that can support reflection and shared understanding is Connections,
We hold the Brown community close and stand in solidarity with Providence and all those affected by gun violence. We will continue to show up for our community, now and always.
